Oakdale Business and Professional Association Board Meeting December 20, 2007 Sgt Peppers Members Present – Jack Buckley, Larry Eberhard, Patty Kamas, John Larson, Herb Lohse, Frank Orsello, Ric Pace, Stacie Penn, Rick Timm, Craig Waldron, Amy Brown, Michele Willard, Marc Cove, Ted Lillie, Jack Burke, & Bill Burns City Update – Craig Waldron spoke about the highway 36 Business Center and Cedric's Landing South. He also spoke about a good budget session and the fact they added one additional staff to public works and 2 additional staff to the ambulance crew. School Update – Marc Cove mentions how proud he is of the kids at Tartan regarding the HHH event. He also made mention of the stolen toys at Webster School. He spoke about the Financial Audit results (increases in energy costs and the fact that enrollment is up by over 200 students). Winter fest – Marc Cove reported this year we are combining Winter fest with Winter Wonderland. It will be held at the new Oakdale Discovery Center this Saturday December 22nd from 9 am – 1 pm. They will have Santa, Horse drawn carriage rides, bonfire, food served inside the facility. They still need 1 more volunteer so see Marc about this. Gold Plate – Board bring your bottles of wine soon to Ric Pace. They mailed out the invitations. Please purchase your tickets soon. Everyone on the board needs to help with getting the word out and help with the ticket sales to make this a successful event. If you have any donations, please direct them to Jodi Christensen. Holiday Helping Hands – John Larson reported 400 kids received toys. 91 Families served. We talked about how big do we want this project to get and how should we plan for the future for this event. Committee Reports: Treasurer’s Report – Jack Burke reported $ 15,577 in checking and $ 14,609 in the money market account. We continued to review the list of uncollectible. In 60 seconds – Jack Buckley noted he has one spot open for February. Guest Speaker – Frank Orsello reports the January meeting will be Jack Burke as our guest speaker - Topic: Capital gains, Kiddy tax and AMT. There was a proposal to run in the Progress portion of the paper the OBPA ad in the Lillie for $1,318. Tony motioned approval and Marc Cove seconded it. There was also much discussion regarding the lights at Hwy 36 and Hwy 120. Terry Furlong asked for help. MN DOT did re-evaluate the lights and made some improvements and Terry mentioned it has helped out. Adjourn – The meeting was adjourned at 1:00.
