Members present- RickTimm, John Larson, Frank Orsella, Jodi Christensen, Stacie Penn, Tony Schwartz, Amy Brown, Jack Buckley, Michele Willard, Craig Waldron, Herb Lohse, Ted Lillie, Dan Rude, Larry Eberhard, and Ric Pace.
City of Oakdale – Park and Rec - Bruce Anderson presented an idea for the OBPA to help support their activities through our volunteer work and support in getting communications to the community. He will present a formal proposal to John Larson.
City Update -
The City Council is working towards a 5% reduction in its 2009 Budget.
The new outdoor amphitheater at the Discovery Center. The amphitheater constructed by the Twin Cities Tree Trust crews. It seats approximately 200 people.
Stimulus Money for Energy and Road Improvements – the city recently received news of a $400K appropriation by the US Congress for the city to undertake improvements to the public works campus. The money will be used to upgrade the lighting to LED technology and assist in developing geothermal heating and cooling of the facility.

Golf Tourney update – Tony Schwartz thanked all sponsors and reported to make approximately $5000.
Tech Support update – OBPA is now on Twitter. We all agreed to move forward with this but to table for more discussion about sharing the email list.
Nomination of President and Vice President – John Larson nominated Rick Timm for President and Dan Rude for Vice President, Jodi Christensen seconded it.
Gold Plate 2010 Team – Nicole French will chair next year’s Gold Plate.
3/50 Project proposal – we reviewed the handouts. We agree this seems to be a good thing for our community.
RBOC information/social event and Sept 17th meeting – investment is $25 if bought by Sept 11th at the Prom Center 11:30-1:30.
Yellow Ribbon Update – Marc is still working hard to see what other communities are doing. He will report back at our next meeting.
Political Involvement debate – We discussed what our developments were from the small committee meetings and Ted presented our proposal.
